Did you enjoy the start of restaurant week on Saturday? If you live in an apartment in Lynchburg, VA you can enjoy the second annual restaurant week all week long. Twenty two local restaurants are taking part in the event.
For Restaurant Week in Lynchburg, the chefs have put together a special, three-course menu for either $15 or $25.
The Chefs who are participating are very excited for the event, especially because it was so successful and fun last year.
"We were packed every night...every night. It was incredible. I mean really, the impact on the Lynchburg restaurant scene was tremendous," one chef said.
The special three-course menus are a win-win for everyone.
"It's encouraging people to come to the restaurants and for the restaurants, it is a fine window to show what they're doing," said chef Gabathuler.
That's what they hope to accomplish at Arosto pizza on Wards Road. This is their first restaurant week since opening in January.
Kitchen manager John Smith says they already had a busy lunch. Smith says it's a good sign that the week to come will bring new customers through the doors.
"Restaurant week as a whole does allow people to try things that maybe are a little more outside their comfort zone that they would normally not try at a full price," Smith said.
Lynchburg residents are excited about the event.
"There's a lot of different options, and fare being shown by the chefs, and it's just fun. Plus I like the fact that you get to go to a restaurant that you normally wouldn't go to...it's an opportunity to test new places, so I love that idea," said Ty and Lynn Young.
The chefs are ready for the test and hope you'll keep coming back.
